My name is Gísli Jóhann Sigurðsson and I am 71 years old.I started to collect matchbox labels when I was ca 10 – 12 old. For many years my father collected with me, and when I leave home 19 years old the collection was with him and he was the collector for many years. I looked on the collection when I visit my parents. Ca 20 years ago he called me at said I should take over in the collection, and since then I have been collecting again. I collect labels all over the world and have not focused on nothing in particular. Once the goal was to acquire 100,000 labels, and when that was achieved I stopped counting. I decided to participate in this exhibition because there is currently no theme going on and I expect we will see a lot of beautiful labels and boxes
